PREDICTRONICS JOINS SIEMENS' MINDSPHERE PARTNER PROGRAM TO DELIVER ANALYTICS APPLICATION FOR ROBOT HEALTH MONITORING

DECEMBER 3, 2019

CINCINNATI, OH, USA – Predictronics Corporation, a leader in predictive analytics and Industrial AI, today announced it has joined the MindSphere Partner Program and launched the Predictronics Factory Sentinel for Industrial Robots application powered by MindSphere®, the cloud-based, open IoT operating system from Siemens.

The MindSphere Partner Program is Siemens' partner program for Industrial IoT solutions and technology providers. MindSphere connects products, plants, systems, and machines, enabling businesses to harness the wealth of data generated by the Internet of things (IoT) with advanced analytics.

As a MindSphere Gold Partner, Predictronics employs technical team members trained by Siemens through the MindSphere technical curriculum and customized its Factory Sentinel for Industrial Robots application for MindSphere. Membership in the MindSphere Partner Program provides a go-to market agreement which assists Predictronics in sharing current offerings with a wider audience and achieving substantial business value through IoT technology.

“With Predictronics as a partner in the MindSphere ecosystem, customers gain access to predictive analytics and Industrial AI solutions to add value to their digital transformation initiatives,” said Florian Beil, Head of MindSphere Sales and Partners, Siemens Digital Industries Software. "Predictronics' solutions and MindSphere help customers realize the benefits provided by Industrial IoT."

Factory Sentinel for Industrial Robots is a data visualization and analysis application that monitors and manages the condition of industrial robots. It provides objective and data-driven robot health information for overall and axis health and uses advanced predictive algorithms to generate accurate health models.

This application obtains motor current, position, and speed data, running it through a machine learning algorithm to establish a baseline behavior model. It then assesses how the current behavior differs from the baseline to help plant and maintenance personnel visualize robot degradation.

Data collected once every 12 or 24 hours from the robot’s PLC, without any add-on sensors, is then sent across the network to the Factory Sentinel server where it is processed on the server and robot health results are displayed in an interactive web interface. Factory Sentinel sends notifications about faulty robots to users, enabling them to dive deeper into the root cause of faulty robot behavior. This helps companies predict potential failure and prevent unplanned downtime, affording them significant cost savings.

“Providing our application on MindSphere helps enable end users to easily upload their machine data directly to MindSphere for quicker deployment and visualization,” said Edzel Lapira, Predictronics CEO. “The partnership with Siemens provides Predictronics with the opportunity for future growth, expanding Predictronics’ vertical to a larger market and allowing us to make a greater difference in industrial applications. Predictronics is excited to join the MindSphere partner community and discover new opportunities to make a global impact."
